For some reason, I like this song. Could be because of the huge “wife approved” crush I have on Keira Knightly, another chick from the UK (though that is about all they have in common). You can find more info on her website, itunes, or whatever on your own.

I realize that some of you may be tempeted to use this information to judge me in some way, or chategorize my musical taste, but as you can clearly see, I have no taste in music, I just like what I like, and now I have somewhere to tell people about it!!!!
Funny story about Lady Sovereign.
I go to her Myspace page to check out the song you mentioned. I click on it from the streamed list and say to myself; “Wow is this God awful music. Garbage. Horrible. How can anyone listen to this?”
(Wait for the punchline)
I gave it a few more moments, trying to be as open-minded as possible. Yet still it was intolerable.
Then I scrolled down and noticed, hey wait a minute…
There are music videos streaming on this site. Two of them actually.
Yes, this means I was listening to three songs at the same time when making my judgement.
(not the punchline yet)
So I stop all the videos and again start listening to the tune you mentioned, this time without the other ones playing.
(Here’s the punchline)
It still sucks.
Ha ha.
But who cares what I think?
I DO think Toxic is a surprisingly complicated sounding tune for a air-head pop girl. I recommend the full-stereo remix over the mono-artsy original.
I almost respected her for this song until I found out it took three people to write this song.
None of them were her.
The same goes for the new Madonna song I like called Hung Up. I was a Madonna fan for a moment!
Yeah, turns out she didn’t write that either.
Not sure about Random. Part of me thinks, “aww, she sounds so cute!”. I’m guessing that’s not what she was going for. But she’s 5’1″! So cute! Anyway, I’m making an odd vocal connection to Tegan or Sara, the sisters from Candadian indie group – wait for it – Tegan and Sara. They are also cute, take a listen to So Jealous, cool album.
Hilarious story, Z. MySpace can be pretty annoying with just one video/song on auto-play. Yeah, I like Toxic, too. It’s a catchy, dance tune, and I can appreciate that. Agree with ZBalance, all these pop girls are just vocalists (not Tegan and Sara, though). But a lot of guys are, too. I remember reading the (tape) liner notes for License to Ill, disappointed to learn that my two favorite songs (Paul Revere and Fight for Your Right to Party, obviously) weren’t written by the Beastie Boys. I think they’ve made up for that, but then again, I haven’t looked at their liner notes since then. Or bought any of their albums.
By Track 4, the Lady is growing on me. That’s it! She sings like Ali G talks! She’s Lady G!
