My friend Or pointed me to a page with some great file search tips for Google (other search engines may work, too). It’s targeted towards MP3s, but can also be used to find PDFs and other file formats. Now play nice…

Whoah there big fella.
You’re gonna have to help me with that “Or” link.
The only english on the page doesn’t seem very, uh.. how do I put this….
National-security-friendly if ya know what I mean.
I keep telling him his fonts are all screwed up, but he hasn’t gotten around to fixing them. It’s a beer or coffee related font known as “he-brew” or something like that. Real big in Israel, from what I hear, but not a national security threat, I assure you. In fact, I thought I read something in the news about us having the same threats to national security as the Israelis, like some group called “hummus”, I think, that makes a delicious dip for pita bread. Why that’s a threat, I don’t know.
Ah, the Jewish folken.
I’m surprised I didn’t recognize the lettering, considering I have to pass dozens of kosher-shops/law offices/synagogues on my daily route to work AKA escape from Lakewood, NJ.
But at the same time, I was due for my “Monthly racist ignorant pig opinion-that-no-one-asked-for” remark, so this fit my schedule quite nicely.
On topic, I’ve actually found really good success (at least with Yahoo!) with the limiters that help a lot in getting rid of results that aren’t wanted. Especially when I’m looking for image references for design work.
Honestly, if your Safe Search filter is off and you do a search on “banana” I guarantee you’re gonna find some photos of the Chiquita Banana woman you never knew existed.
